StaffPad Ltd. just brought their Microsoft Surface app StaffPad to iPad! This elaborate scoring app has been exclusive on Microsoft's tablet since 2015, because it was designed to utilize the Surface's hardwriting recognition. Now that same functionality is available to iPad owners! Note taking apps. The main app is pricey, but there's also a free version that can sync up to it so that other musicians can follow along.

COMPOSER ASSISTANT
StaffPad features 'Fenby', our voice-activated composer assistant, who can assist you in routine tasks like setting up your score, adding instruments, tempos, bar line styles, key changes and more.
StaffPad’s Settings can be accessed in a couple of ways: From the Home screen, tap the StaffPad Logo in the top left, then 'Open App Settings'. From any score, by going to the Command bar and selecting More, and then selecting Settings; There aren’t a whole lot of app-wide settings that can be adjusted in StaffPad, but here’s what can. If you're looking for software that will recognise your pen-scrawled musical notes and convert them into nice-looking digital notes, StaffPad may be the only option. But if you just want to write down music and save it on your Surface in handwritten form, try Microsoft's free app Plumbago. The answer is very short: it's impossible to create so good and quasi professional app like StaffPad on IOS, even only for iPad Pro. StaffPad needs not mobile OS like iOS or Android, 2. Apple not going to create a MacBook Pro with Pen&touch screen (like Wacom or MS surface series).

Staffpad Tutorial
This is why: -I can't export anything into any format anymore.. -If you try to write something with 100+ measures it will often not recognize writing and glitch the smoothness of your strokes. It has pending measures but can't do one measure at a time at that point so I have to put one note at a time if it even recognizes it.. -it automatically plays the volume of my crescendos and decrescendos backwards -barely recognizes dots on notes and cannot accurately distinguish between ties and slurs -does not support clef changes within the measure -pedal notation on the piano glitches frequently and prints horrifically -the autosuggestions frequently appear underneath the keyboard in tablet mode.. how can I choose an option? -has barebones/extremely limited notation and editing for every instrument -glitches when copying music and then trying to undo the action -does a terrible job at deciphering triplets Bad experience overall. PLEASE UPDATE! I'm even using a new surface book!
